Software Testing: A Comprehensive Overview

Software testing is a critical process in the software development life cycle that ensures that software applications or systems meet the specified requirements and quality standards. The primary objective of software testing is to identify any defects or errors in the software before its release to the end-users.

Different types of software testing are employed to achieve the desired quality standards. Unit testing is used to test individual units or components of the software to ensure their proper functionality. Integration testing is employed to test how different units or components of the software interact with each other.

System testing is conducted to test the entire software system to ensure that it functions as intended and meets the required quality standards. Acceptance testing is done to ensure that the software meets the customer's requirements and is ready for deployment.

Regression testing is performed to test the software after changes have been made to it, to ensure that no new defects or errors have been introduced.
