🧩 Role Overview – Senior Test Engineer – Functional
ValGenesis is hiring a Senior Test Engineer – Functional for its Hyderabad and Chennai locations.
This role is suited for experienced QA professionals who have strong expertise in functional testing, test planning, defect management, and end-to-end application validation.
As a Senior Test Engineer, you will work closely with development, product, and business teams to ensure software functionality, reliability, and release quality.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
• Analyze business and technical requirements to develop comprehensive test scenarios
• Design, review, and execute detailed test cases
• Perform Functional, Regression, Integration, and System Testing
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects
• Validate application workflows against business requirements
• Participate in requirement reviews and testing strategy discussions
• Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders for issue resolution
• Support release testing and production readiness activities
• Maintain test documentation, reports, and QA metrics
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing standards
🎯 Experience & Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Strong experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance
• Hands-on experience in Functional Testing
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC
• Experience in Test Case Design and Test Execution
• Good knowledge of Defect Tracking and Test Management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
⭐ Nice to Have Skills
• Agile/Scrum methodology experience
• API Testing knowledge
• SQL and Database Testing
• JIRA or similar defect management tools
• Automation Testing exposure
• Experience with enterprise applications
