🔍 Essential Skillset & Qualifications:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
A QA Tester at Scotiabank is expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, product managers, and automation engineers. Clear communication ensures accurate test documentation, seamless defect reporting, and efficient coordination during Agile ceremonies. Effective interpersonal skills also contribute to improved productivity, better stakeholder alignment, and smooth project delivery.
• Proven expertise in designing and maintaining automation frameworks.
Candidates should have substantial experience in building scalable automation frameworks compatible with enterprise systems. This includes hybrid, data-driven, keyword-driven, and behavior-driven frameworks. The ability to maintain and update these frameworks in fast-paced development environments is crucial for ensuring continuous test coverage and reducing manual effort.
• Hands-on experience in UI and mobile application testing and automation.
The QA role requires comprehensive exposure to front-end testing for web and mobile applications across diverse platforms and devices. Experience in Selenium, Appium, Playwright, or Cypress is valuable for ensuring robust coverage. Validating usability, responsiveness, functionality, and accessibility is essential as Scotiabank continues expanding its digital banking ecosystem.
• Strong proficiency in API and microservices testing.
In modern financial systems, microservices architecture plays a key role in integrating multiple banking operations. The ideal QA Tester must be adept at validating REST and SOAP APIs using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools. Experience in contract testing, service virtualization, and message queue validation is a strong advantage.
• Solid programming knowledge in Java and Python.
