🧩 Role Overview – QA Engineer (Manual/Automation)
Quess Lanka is hiring a QA Engineer to work closely with engineering teams and support high-quality software delivery.
This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy manual testing, quality assurance, and working in Agile environments while also gaining exposure to automation and scripting.
In this role, you will:
• Work closely with engineering teams to understand business and technical requirements
• Write and execute functional test cases
• Support integration testing and UAT activities
• Contribute to automation and troubleshooting where applicable
You will play a critical role in ensuring stable, reliable, and user-friendly software releases.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with engineering teams to understand business and technical requirements
• Write and execute functional test cases and test scenarios
• Manage defects and ensure timely resolution
• Participate in requirement reviews and contribute to test planning
• Support system integration testing and UAT activities
• Assist with automation, scripting, and troubleshooting where applicable
• Follow Agile practices and contribute to on-time, high-quality releases
• Ensure product quality and release readiness
• Prepare clear test reports and documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for quality improvements
🎯 Experience & Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in Software QA
• Strong understanding of QA fundamentals and testing concepts
• Hands-on experience in manual testing
• Automation knowledge is a plus
• Familiarity with Jira or HPQC
• Basic knowledge of OOP and Agile/Scrum practices
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
⭐ Nice to Have Skills
• Exposure to automation scripting
• Experience with integration testing and UAT
• Basic knowledge of test planning tools
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows
