Bree is a consumer finance platform dedicated to providing faster and more affordable financial services to millions of Canadians living paycheck to paycheck. As a Software Engineer in Test, you will be part of an "AI-native" engineering team that prioritizes high ownership and rapid iteration.
Your mission is to build the most reliable and forward-thinking automated systems. You will take pride in keeping development fast and stable, ensuring that Bree’s Lambda-based backend and React Native mobile apps deliver a seamless experience to over 400,000 users.
🛠️ Required Skills & Expertise
✅ Automation Framework Development
Deep proficiency with TypeScript for building scalable automated test suites.
Hands-on experience with Jest and Testing Library for backend and frontend validation.
Expertise in mobile automation using React Native Testing Library and Detox.
✅ Serverless & Distributed Systems
Proven experience testing AWS Lambda and SQS-driven architectures.
Strong understanding of API validation, integration testing, and performance benchmarking.
Ability to integrate testing suites into modern CI/CD pipelines.
✅ Engineering Best Practices
Focus on observability, fault-tolerant testing, and system reliability.
Collaboration-first mindset, working closely with developers to catch issues early in the SDLC.
