💫 Quality Assurance for Cloud-Based FinTech SaaS Products
As a Junior QA Specialist at Mako, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of a modern, cloud-native fintech SaaS platform used by global asset managers and financial institutions. Working within a high-growth product engineering environment, you will help validate features that power secure onboarding, client interactions, and automated back-office operations across the wealth management ecosystem.
💫 Regression Testing & Release Validation
You will be responsible for executing structured regression testing cycles to ensure that application updates, configurations, and client-specific customizations meet both internal quality benchmarks and customer expectations. This includes inspecting deliverables prior to every release, validating functional and data changes, and ensuring that new enhancements do not impact existing business-critical workflows.
💫 Test Planning, Documentation & Functional Coverage
The role requires developing and executing detailed test plans that validate system behavior across multiple functional areas. You will analyze business process documentation, understand system workflows, and design test scenarios that ensure sufficient functional coverage across features, integrations, and configurations. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy is essential.
💫 Defect Identification, Tracking & Reporting
You will actively identify, log, and track defects using defined QA processes and tools, ensuring clear reproduction steps, impact analysis, and timely follow-ups. Test execution results, defect summaries, and quality reports will be shared with engineering, product, and solutions teams to support informed release decisions.
💫 Test Automation Exposure & Regression Optimization
The Junior QA Specialist will support automated regression testing by contributing to existing automation frameworks. While this role is not automation-first, hands-on exposure to automation tools and scripts will help improve release efficiency and long-term product quality. A strong willingness to learn automation concepts is highly valued.
💫 Cross-Functional Collaboration Across Engineering & Product Teams
You will collaborate closely with Solutions Engineering, Post Launch Engineering, Product Managers, Sales Engineers, and Software Engineers to understand business changes introduced in each sprint or release. This collaboration ensures that testing aligns with real-world usage, client expectations, and evolving fintech workflows.
💫 QA Process Improvement & Best Practices Adoption
You will actively participate in recommending and institutionalizing QA best practices, methodologies, and tools. By working alongside senior QA and engineering leaders, you will contribute to improving testing efficiency, consistency, and quality maturity across the organization.
🔍 Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
💫 Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
💫 Basic understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), including test planning, test case design, execution, and reporting.
💫 Experience testing web-based applications across multiple browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox.
💫 Strong analytical thinking, documentation skills, time management, and verbal/written communication abilities.
💫 Ability to learn complex systems quickly and retain technical and business knowledge.
💫 Exposure to test automation frameworks or scripting is considered a strong advantage.
💫 Prior experience or interest in fintech, wealth management, financial services platforms, or SaaS products is an added benefit.
💫 Strong enthusiasm for building a long-term career in Quality Assurance and software quality engineering.
