🔍 Role Overview – UAT Tester (AML & Banking Compliance)
We are seeking a UAT Tester to support AML (Anti-Money Laundering) initiatives for a major Canadian banking client in Toronto. This is a hands-on User Acceptance Testing role, working closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Technology teams to ensure that AML system enhancements and implementations meet regulatory and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate has prior banking or financial services experience, understands AML processes, and can perform effectively in a fast-paced, project-heavy environment where precision and audit readiness are critical.
🧪 Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Review and analyze Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), process flows, and data mappings to understand system logic and expected outcomes
Design and execute detailed UAT test cases and test scenarios
Validate data flows between upstream and downstream systems, including:
Customer data
Transaction data
Alert generation and AML rule outputs
Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as JIRA or ALM, and follow through to resolution
Collaborate with Business Analysts and IT teams to clarify requirements and validate fixes
Support production readiness and contribute to UAT sign-off documentation
Ensure audit traceability of all UAT testing activities
🧠 Must-Have Qualifications
2–3+ years of experience in UAT testing or QA within banking or financial services
Direct experience supporting AML, compliance, or financial crime programs, including:
Transaction Monitoring
KYC
Sanctions Screening
Strong understanding of how AML systems process and flag transactions
Hands-on experience executing test cases based on BRDs and functional specifications
Proven ability to log defects, verify fixes, and document testing evidence
Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under tight timelines
🌟 Nice-to-Have Skills (High-Value Additions)
Experience with AML platforms such as Actimize, SAS AML, Mantas, or Fircosoft
Basic SQL skills for data validation and transaction-level verification
Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
Understanding of regulatory frameworks:
FINTRAC
OSFI
FATF
