🧩 Role Overview – Big Data Cloud QA Engineer (Data Quality Engineer)
Impetus is hiring experienced Big Data QA professionals with strong expertise in SQL, ETL workflows, and AWS cloud technologies.
This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy validating complex data pipelines, testing data platforms, and ensuring reliability across big data ecosystems.
In this role, you will:
• Test end-to-end data workflows and quality pipelines
• Validate ETL processes and data movement across systems
• Work on big data platforms and cloud-based environments
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate, scalable, and high-quality data delivery.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
• Perform Automation Testing, ETL Testing, and Database Testing
• Validate data warehouse workflows and Hadoop ecosystem processes
• Design and execute test plans and test cases for data quality assurance
• Perform data validation across source, staging, and target systems
• Work with AWS services, especially Amazon EMR
• Analyze and troubleshoot data issues in big data environments
• Collaborate with development, data engineering, and QA teams
• Support regression, integration, and end-to-end data testing
• Ensure test coverage for complex data workflows
• Maintain defect reports and QA documentation
🎯 Experience & Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field preferred
• 3–6 years of experience in QA / Data Testing / Big Data Testing
• Strong expertise in SQL and ETL workflows
• Experience in Automation Testing, ETL Testing, and Data Warehouse Testing
• Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem and data validation practices
• Hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, and SQL
• Working knowledge of Apache Spark (Java/Python)
• Basic understanding of Scala
• Experience with AWS Cloud, especially Amazon EMR
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and collaboration abilities
• Experience with cloud-based data pipelines
• Exposure to test automation frameworks
• Familiarity with Agile delivery models
• Experience in enterprise data platforms
